I held off on Vista too because of the hype. The only reason I'm on Vista now is because it came preinstalled on the laptop.

In all, I'm pretty happy with it. It doesn't deserve the bad press it gets. Half the problem is XP still does the job very nicely and there isn't a really compelling reason to upgrade. However if Vista is pre-installed, I don't see a good reason to go back to XP.

On Flash and Silverlight thing - it just demonstrates how dominant the Flash install base is. It's a prerequisite for YouTube and it's interesting that now the new Facebook profiles are actively prompting you to upgrade to the latest version of Flash to get the best user experience.

This is all good news for us as Adobe developers!
