Microsoft using Flash to promote Vista
I saw on Ted Patrick’s blog today that Microsoft have setup a website called the mojave experiment. What’s the site about? Well to take the intro off the site. “What do people think of Windows Vista when they don’t know it’s Windows Vista?”.
Microsoft got a whole bunch of people together and interviewed them about what they though of Windows Vista. The majority was bad, even though they had never actually used the OS. They then gave them a copy of what they said was the next version of Windows, Windows Mojave, and interviewed them to find out what they thought. After most had good things to say about the new version of Windows it was announced that they had actually been using Vista. I must admit i’m a victim of the hype and still use XP because of the bad press.
The more interesting part of this site is that it has been developed in Flash, not in silverlight. Now this maybe because Microsoft had a third party develop the site? Or Silverlight is still not feature rich or have the install base that they really need to help push Vista. Whatever the case I thought it was pretty interesting ![]()
