Tourists be gone Photoshop technique

While up at webDU this year I was talking with Greg Rewis about a Photoshop technique that he shows when presenting at conferences around the world. The technique involves using Photoshop to strip out the pesky tourists that inevitably get in the way of your happy snaps.

If you can provide Photoshop with at least three images you can perform a photomerge that will only display pixels that occur more than 50% of the time. This means a tourist that shows up in one of your photos but not the other two is removed!

The good news is Greg has documented the technique on his blog, so go and check it out. Nice one Greg!

Having just returned from a trip overseas I wish i’d known about this technique before i’d left. Mind you I would have ended up with five times the number of photos.
