Automatically resizing images for AIR
I’m looking to get into developing some Flex/AIR applications in the next few months. I really hope that Adobe AIR gains momentum and is able to achieve the same sorts of installs as the Flash Player. If you haven’t heard of it before, it aims to blur the desktop / internet application line.
I’ve only been messing round with building AIR apps using Flex (none post worthy) but found a handy little time saver from Paul Burnett. Paul has posted a very handy Fireworks command that will automate the creation of AIR icons.
He’s written an mxp file that when you open it will be installed as a command in Fireworks. While working on a PNG you can select ‘AIR Icons’ from the command menu and Fireworks will save the 128, 48, 32 and 16 pixel .png files in the same place as the original.
